JUSTINE BOUCHARD NURTURINGWAYS DOULA
0439737585 justine@nurturingways.com.au
As a doula- I accompany women during the birth of their baby offering support for a safe and satisfying birth experience. I draw upon my childbirth knowledge and experience to provide emotional support, physical comfort and clear information to you and your partner.
I can provide reassurance and perspective, make suggestions for labour progress, and help with relaxation, massage, positioning, and other techniques for comfort.
As a doula, I do NOT perform clinical tasks, such as blood pressure, foetal assessments, vaginal exams etc. I am present to provide for your physical comfort, emotional support, and advocacy.
I am independent and self-employed. As your Doula, I am working for you, not your caregiver or the hospital/birth centre.
Choosing a Doula- If you choose to select me as your doula, I will become familiar with your plans for labour, birth, and post-partum and how I can best support you at this meaningful time.
I would like to know your own ideas for coping with labour and how you and your partner foresee working together.
I will inform you of times I am not available for labour support and will do my best to ensure my availability for your labour and birth. I will endeavour to provide a Backup Doula if unforeseeable circumstances prevent my attendance.
During late pregnancy. I am available for phone consultations and email questions. During the o call period, I encourage clients to check in with me every few days to let me know how their progressing.
I will be on-call (24 hours) for you from 2 weeks prior to 2 weeks following your estimated due date. When labour begins: you will let me know of any signs of pre or early labour. We will evaluate your needs by phone once labour has begun.
It is up to you to decide at what point in your labour you want me to come and be with you. During the labour I plan to be with you throughout your labour from the time you request my presence. I will provide support as appropriate; this may include- enhancing relaxation, encouraging movement, breathing, massage, emotional support, and other requests we may have discussed.

I respect and honour the sacred birthing space and support you and your partner to share the experience fully.
